Sophie Biervert

ABOUT ME

Sophie Helena Biervert is a Chilean-German multidisciplinary actress based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She is a senior studying Theater and Law in NYU; she completed her advanced professional acting training in the Meisner studio, NYU Tisch School Of the Arts.

Sophie is passionate about participating in work that is diverse, ever-evolving, and in conversation with the world. Having lived in South America, Asia, the UAE, and the US – Sophie brings a multicultural lens to her artistic work and practice. Recent international training includes working under the mentorship of Rubén Polendo & Theater Mitú in India, and acting in the international-award-winning film The Water Station.

Sophie holds an expansive skill set which transcends the acting realm. Recent employment includes working in Arts & Cultural Programming in Manarat Al Saadiyat, and serving as a development and creative project assistant in the UAE’s largest Entertainment and Media production company: TwoFour54.

Sophie has collaborated with an array of artists by supporting them in their creative visions. Honorable mentions include assisting Miranda Davidson Studios with Film casting and production, supporting Becky Anderson’s team in CNN Academy, overlooking the production of the Emirate’s Music Association, and receiving a certificate of recognition by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission for outstanding support in the Premiere of Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

As a Law student, Sophie is driven by the impact of ‘artivism’ – engaging in creative practice as a means to inspire change and social transformation.
